 How did the water appear and disappear?? Where did
the fish come from?? Simple.
Notice how Homer...um, sorry...Crystal doesn't speak a single word? That's because he's got a
mouthful of water. When David uses the cloth to cover the glass, "Crystal" secretly spits the water
into the glass or sucks it back into his mouth, depending which part of the routine David is at.
Then at the end, using some slight-of-hand maneuver, David moves 5 or 6 completely dehydrated fish
into the palm of his hand (you know how small dehydrated things are, right? that's why the
audience never realizes he was holding fish...because they were dehydrated and dried up, thus too
small to be noticed!).
Well, in order to re-hydrate the fish, David needs water! That's why he pours a little bit of the
water into his hand at this point - to let the fish expand to normal size. Once the fish are plump and
watery again, David releases them into the glass.
